SPST 40A

The KSD305 thermostat controls temperature in high-power electrical equipment. It controls circuit on-off using bimetallic strip thermal expansion and contraction. Its major feature is that it supports 40A high current load, which greatly exceeds the standards of ordinary thermostats. Industrial heating equipment, commercial appliances, and new energy systems need high-power protection. The product supports NO/NC contact forms and adapts action temperature to equipment requirements, with ±3℃~±5℃ temperature control accuracy.

Working Principle

 

The KSD305 thermostat's inside is welded by two layers of manganese-nickel-copper alloy and iron-nickel alloy sheets with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. When the equipment's temperature rises, the bimetallic strip bends due to the expansion differential, pushing the contact to operate (open or shut); when the temperature lowers to the reset threshold, the metal strip returns to its previous state and the contact automatically resets Optimising the bimetallic strip thickness and curvature design gives KSD305 thermostat robust responsiveness in high current conditions and a 15% shorter action time than older models.

Capable of carrying high current: Rated current of 40A/250V AC may directly control high-power heating tubes, motors, and other loads, simplifying circuit design and eliminating relay arrangement;
The sensor operates in a wide temperature range of -30℃ to +220℃, making it appropriate for demanding situations like cold storage equipment and industrial ovens.
Dual protection: Automatic (contacts close when temperature drops) and manual (push shell button) reset options. The manual reset kind locks the fault status to prevent false start;
The impact-resistant structure has UL94 V-0 grade high-temperature resistant plastic shell and silver alloy internal connections. No wear after 100,000 life tests, ideal for industrial vibration scenarios;
Design for precise temperature control: The action temperature (such as "125℃") is marked by laser engraving technology, and the reset temperature difference can be modified to 5℃~40℃ (default 15℃) to suit the temperature control accuracy needs of diverse equipment.

 Rated voltage/current: AC 40A/250V, 30A/380V (optional), ≤50mΩ contact resistance, ≥100MΩ insulation resistance (500V DC), withstand voltage AC 1500V/1min without breakdown

Action temperature range: -30℃ to +220℃ (standard model 50℃ to 150℃, customisable), temperature error ±3℃ (50℃ to 100℃) and ±5℃ (other ranges); Physical specifications:
Dimensions: 32x25x18mm, 6.3x0.8mm plug-in terminal (customisable lead length), Φ4mm mounting hole, M4 screw fixing; UL, CUL, VDE, TÜV, CE certified, RoHS compliant, CQC test report available (life test shows 6000 hours). Electrical cycles do not degrade performance).
